NAVFAC Pacific Hosts Specialized Job Fair to Recruit Engineering Talent

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii – Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Pacific hosted a successful job fair Sept. 10 at the Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii in an effort to recruit and hire permanent, full-time civilian positions across the Pacific area of operations.

"Investing directly in our people is vital to meeting our mission requirements,” said NAVFAC Pacific Vice Commander Capt. Brent Paul. “Tapping into our local talent pool to recruit a highly skilled workforce empowers our team by providing the operational foundation needed to build, maintain, and defend our posture across the Pacific theater.”

Human Resources representatives from NAVFAC Pacific, NAVFAC Hawaii, NAVFAC Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center and the Office of Civilian Human Resources within the Department of the Navy were in attendance recruiting a variety of professional disciplines, to include: engineers, construction managers, program and project managers, architects, engineering technicians and contract specialists.

“The scale of our current projects in Pearl Harbor and Washington State represents a generational investment in national security infrastructure,” said NAVFAC Pacific Chief Engineer Marc Wong. “To deliver on these critical missions, NAVFAC Pacific is seeking top-tier acquisition, facilities, and engineering talent ready to tackle some of the largest, most complex engineering challenges in the nation.”

The event drew nearly 300 in-person applicants and yielded dozens of onsite interviews, culminating in NAVFAC extending 30 tentative on-the-spot job offers to highly qualified candidates, with follow-on hiring actions planned in the coming weeks for many of the other applications received.

“I am incredibly proud of our team for executing such an outstanding event," said Wong. "Seeing so many driven individuals eager to contribute to our landmark projects proves that we are actively recruiting the very talent that will shape our nation's readiness for decades to come.”

The mission of NAVFAC Pacific is we plan, design, build and deliver resilient facilities infrastructure, expertly delivering construction, engineering and contracting services to our supported commanders.
