Chinese FM Calls for Ceasefire in Middle East to Avert Wider Conflict
According to reports, Wang made the remarks during an annual press briefing focused on foreign policy while attending the political gathering known as the Two Sessions in Beijing.
"This is a war that should never have happened, and one that benefits no one," Wang said as he addressed the conference.
He emphasized that military confrontation cannot provide lasting solutions to disputes and warned about the consequences of escalating violence.
"Force is not the way to resolve problems, and resorting to arms will only breed new hatred," he added.
Discussing another major regional issue, Wang reiterated that resolving the Palestinian question requires the implementation of a two-state framework, describing it as the only “equitable and widely recognized” solution.
The minister also spoke about broader global relations, saying that China and the United States should maintain mutual respect and preserve peaceful coexistence within an increasingly multipolar world.
Addressing ties with Russia, Wang said cooperation between the two countries remains firm despite external pressures.
China-Russia relations remain "as steady as a rock" despite the “test of winds and rains," he said.
He further highlighted Beijing’s intention to turn its vision of an Asia-Pacific community into practical outcomes.
"China will work toward the goal of translating the vision and blueprint for building an Asia-Pacific community into actions and reality," he said.
Wang also stressed that safeguarding Chinese citizens and national interests abroad continues to be a top priority for the country’s diplomatic service.
Strengthening the system of safety protection for Chinese nationals and interests overseas is the unremitting pursuit of the Chinese foreign service in the new era, he added.
