China Accuses US for Breaching Trade Deal
In response, China vowed to implement measures aimed at protecting its national interests.
This allegation mirrors earlier accusations made by United States Leader Donald Trump against China.
According to the agreement unveiled on May 12 after breakthrough discussions in Geneva, the two largest economies in the world consented to halt most of the new tariffs introduced since early April, while continuing negotiations.
The ministry stated in an official release, “If the US insists on its own way and continues to damage China’s interests, China will continue to take resolute and forceful measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.”
Furthermore, it asserted that the White House had violated the mutual understanding reached between President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping during their recent dialogue earlier this year.
The list of US measures cited by the ministry included international alerts discouraging the use of Huawei chips, halting the sale of chip design software to Chinese firms, and revoking visas for Chinese students.
